Tomato Alicante 40 Seeds
Tomato Alicante is a superior, improved Moneymaker type that matures early and produces heavy crops of medium sized red tomatoes. It should be grown as an indeterminate variety so will need support and its side shoots pinched out. We grown ours in a greenhouse, but can also be grown outside if you have the right climate for it and a sheltered spot. Nothing beats the wonderful taste of homegrown fresh tomatoes.
Sow seeds underglass 0.5cm deep in pots or trays of good seed sowing compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling of vermiculite or compost. Place containers in a propagator at a temperature of 1821°C. Prick out seedlings, once large enough to handle, into 9cm pots. Transplant to the greenhouse border soil, or individual large pots, or 3 plants per growbag when 20cm (8in) high. Can also be planted outdoors once all risk of frost has past.
Plants require side shooting and support for the best yields. Water and feed plants once the first truss has set. An indeterminate grow as single stem and remove side shoots.
