A very hardy winter spinach variety with large dark green leaves of good flavour. It will survive all but the worst weather the UK can throw at it and stands for a long time when it reaches maturity so you can pick it when needed. Spinach is a very tasty vegetable which can be used raw in salads, boiled or steamed. Spinach also freezes well. This variety is not suitable for Spring sowing as it will bolt.
